Reasonable Adjustment at Work

Do you struggle with the problem of introducing and maintaining Reasonable Adjustment in the workplace?

Yes And’s InterAct (Interactive Theatre) techniques are ideal for training in the area of Reasonable Adjustment.

Case Study: Transport For London

TFL were implementing new processes for dealing with Reasonable Adjustment within the organization but recognized that without a change in behaviour and attitude these processes would be much less likely to succeed.

Yes And designed a piece of InterAct looking at three issues (hearing impairment, depression and dyslexia) highlighted by the organization and delivered a 8½ day training sessions over two weeks to 450 people. A video was also produced.

“I attended this course today and I can genuinely say it is the best training I have ever received in my time on London Underground. The material was presented in and lively, engaging and humorous manner and I felt genuinely challenged to manage in a different way.” Senior Operations Manager TFL

The 3 hour Reasonable Adjustment session looks like this:

Introductions - we set out the aims of the day and how we will go about achieving them

The Play - we show the play, which illustrates the key issues gleaned from the research period

InterAct - we start the play again from the beginning, with audience participation to help solve the problems

Interval

The Play & InterAct for a 2nd key issue

The Play & InterAct for a 3rd key issue

Locking and Closing - we re-assess Reasonable Adjustment guiding principles in the light of the experience and determine ongoing goals

Additional Training - with slightly more time,  a training session can be added giving tools and techniques to help people reduce their own levels of stress etc and to impact positively on those around them.
