Yes And’s partnering programme is an ideal opportunity to train a team of in-house staff in the delivery of effective partnering practices and process. This in turn supports the plethora of partnerships which drive the success of authorities’ projects.
Yes And’s partnering process gives direct and measurable benefits so that best practice becomes normal practice throughout the authority. This adds value to all relationships and initiatives and serves as a pilot for wider partnering programmes.
The 3 Stage partnering process usually takes place at the beginning of the relationship and consists of the following:
Mediation – 1 day
This process is called “Opportunity Driven Feedback”. It creates a highly positive framework for a conversation between all parties where issues can surface, be ironed out and resolved, allowing us to wipe the slate clean and start the relationship afresh.
Partnering 1: Purpose and Charter of Best Practice – 1 day
All parties come together and create a common compelling Purpose, which unites and bonds. It then goes on to articulate best practice in partnering behaviours according to the experience of the group. This lays a foundation for the future, determining the group’s advice to itself for more testing times and situations.
Partnering 2: Making Best Practice Operational – 1 day
This now has to become a part of the normal day to day operation of projects. Stage 2 is a methodical adaptation of the partnering charter into everyday behaviour.
Partnering 3: Legacy and Culture – 1 day
This is now passed on to other teams, groups, stakeholders and members of the supply chain. Best practice and continual improvement become part of the everyday culture of the partnership, living and growing throughout the life of the project.
Timings: Mediation and Stage 1 are run together. The remaining sessions are spaced out over a number of months.
